MST3K - K04 - Gamera vs. Barugon
Earliest available episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000. No copies of the first three KTMA-23 (Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota) episodes that aired have ever surfaced (nor has anything but excerpts from the pilot). This early version (it was re-done in the third season) of Joel and the Bots riffing on Gamera vs. Barugon first aired December 4, 1988 and features radically different versions of Crow T. Robot, Tom Servo and Gypsy and the Mads (Mad Scientists Dr. Clayton Forrester and Dr. Laurence Erhardt) have yet to appear*. The set is rough, the riffing is almost entirely ad-libbed, it was filmed on people's spare time with a couple hundred dollars budget per episode. Just be happy that Servo speaks instead of beeping.
