"Maciste Contro i Cacciatori di Teste" is but one of many of the late 50s, early 60 Hercules/Samson/Goliath revival films, but certainly not the first "Maciste" film to come out of Italy. Counting the silent films early 20th Century, "Colossus vs. The Headhunters" is (at least) the thirty-fourth adventure of Maciste (which should be translated as "Hecules"). This would be the last of the sword and sandal genre that Mystery Science Theater 3000 would tackle.
